I should probably taken it as a sign of something, but sometimes I just like to go through life as if it’s pure coincidence. At the baby basset’s school I found a small bird that was flopping around sluggishly and upon closer inspection I noticed one eye was sealed shut and the other was mostly crusted over. It obviously was in distress so I very easily caught it, put in in a box and took it to the Song Bird Rescue in the next town over. The gentleman who took in the little bird didn’t seem all that concerned and said it was an easy fix and it should be fine. Happy with the reassuring words I left the rescue content. Then, while dropping off my youngest basset at his after school activity I found two little birds flopping around unable to walk, on the front doorstep of the gym. You have got to be kidding! This time I had two birds in a box. Thankfully after an hour in the box they perked back up and returned to wild with no issue. If I find three birds today I will most certainly freak out.

The infamous rake, Lord Richard Hamilton, has finally chosen his bride — the very appropriate Miss Emma Grey. The ton approves, Lord Grey is pleased, Lady Grey delighted, and Emma is over the moon, but her uncle, (the blasted) Duke of Arden opposes the match, and Emma is ordered to move to the duke’s estate to think things over. Richard Hamilton refuses to take things lying down and concocts a plan. A plan that should have brought the lovers together and had them married within a month. It was a simple matter of masquerading as the duke’s gardener, compromising the lady, and then having the duke rush them off to Gretna Green. Alas, he underestimates the duke’s intelligence and the tangled situation on the estate — never had he imagined that compromising a lady could be so difficult. His endeavours lead to a comedy of errors, charades, and knotty love affairs. Yet he forges ahead in spite of pesky house guests, a flea bitten mattress, his lovesick best friend, and a blackmailer. Just when things seem to be going well, someone is murdered (very inconvenient), and he happens to be one of the suspects (extremely inconvenient). His simple plan for winning the wager suddenly becomes… a tad complicated.

The inspiration for a holiday Broadway musical event on NBC starring Allison Williams and Christopher Walken: The enchanting story of a boy who wouldn’t grow up and the girl he promised to always remember
One magical night, the Darling children–Wendy, John, and Michael–are visited by two mischievous denizens of Neverland, an island of the imagination where pirates prowl the Mermaids’ Lagoon and fairies live so long as children believe in them. Peter Pan and his loyal, lightning-quick companion, Tinker Bell, have come for Peter’s shadow, captured the previous night by Nana, the children’s Newfoundland nanny. The pair leaves not just with the shadow, but with Wendy and her brothers, as well, whisking them away to Neverland to join the Lost Boys in their war against the evil Captain Hook.
J. M. Barrie created the character of Peter Pan to entertain a young family he regularly met in Kensington Gardens. Over the course of two novels and a play, he turned a whimsical idea into one of the most cherished literary characters of all time.
