I’ll tell you what the worst part about the holidays is. Finding a gift for my hubby. ARG!! I can feel my stress level rising just thinking about it. “Tell me what you want for Christmas baby.”I don’t know…nothing” EVERY YEAR!!! You darn well know I am not going to let go without presents on Christmas! Tell me something..ANYTHING! I can’t spend all this brain power and energy trying to figure out what to get him. I got other stuff to do you know…like laundry and dishes and I still need to mow the ugly, half dead because of the drought lawn. He made a few snide comments about the pajama bottoms I buy him every year, so those are off my list. Those were my go to gifts. Now what!!??

A rollicking, funny chick lit mystery/adventure, full of fun and light romance. Falling is extra hard on tall people, like Rhonda Hamilton: the bone breakage, the bruises, the ignominy of it all. And Rhonda’s falling, hard. The latest novel from a reclusive national bestselling author is a twin to the manuscript she’s just finished and started marketing to agents. Plus, Dad’s acting odd: storing milk in the garage and throwing away all Rhonda’s clothes. Some wild roller derby girls add a bludgeon of crazy to Rhonda’s hunt for the book thief, and two drool-worthy guys offer to help, guys Rhonda would gladly fall for, if her life weren’t careening between Dad’s bizarre antics, treacherous derby bouts, a wild burlesque fundraiser, and the odd mudslide and house demolition. Only one thing is sure: if she wants to nail the wily plagiarist and keep Dad safe, Rhonda had better stay up on her skates to avoid a very big fall.

Lauren Endicott is haunted by the injustice of a father sent to prison for a murder he didn’t commit. She never expected the novel she wrote about the case to become a bestseller, one in which a thinly disguised local senator was the actual murderer, and she certainly never expected to face the town’s outrage after the senator committed suicide. Most of all, she never wanted to hurt the senator’s son, Flynn Huntington, the boy she had loved from afar, the one she knew could never be hers. After the senator’s death, the town and the Huntingtons wanted her gone, and truth be told, Lauren was glad to go. She knew Flynn Huntington hated her, and that she would have to make a life for herself elsewhere. Ten years later when Lauren is forced to come back to town for a short stay, she has no intention of confronting her past. She’s changed her name, colored her hair, and hopes no one will recognize her. To her shock, she immediately finds herself the focus of Flynn’s attention. He’s no longer a boy, and in any other circumstances she’d be dazzled by the handsome and sophisticated man he has become. He doesn’t recognize her, and is under the mistaken impression she is an employee at the local inn. Lauren finds herself right back where she was so many years before, dreaming of someone who can never be hers. Should Lauren tell him the truth about her identity? Or should she walk away before she breaks both their hearts? A novella, approximately 30,000 words
