I don’t know what is going on, but ever since my baby bassets got out of school they have been bickering with each other like a couple of screeching banshees, and I am just about on my last nerve with these two. But I came up with a brilliant plan. Instead of separating them and sending them to their rooms, their new punishment is turning all of their dirty socks in the laundry basket right side out. I have never seen these two so offended in my entire life. I think I even saw my youngest gag a little. That’s right Love Bugs! I have been dealing with your gross damp, dirt filled socks for too long. You try and figure out what you stepped in two days ago. Doesn’t feel all that nice when you stick your hands in mystery goo at the bottom of sock twenty time for one load, does it? It’s GO TIME! MWAHAHAHA!!

Camille Grisham was once a decorated field agent with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. Her job was to solve the country’s most complex and violent crimes, often with little more than a textbook profile of the perpetrator to go on. No one did it better. But after her partner’s death at the hands of a sadistic mass murderer, she has become a broken shell of her former self. Forced to leave the Bureau under the weight of guilt, Camille returns to her hometown of Denver, hopeful that the presence of family and friends can heal the wounds that time could not. Unfortunately, a change in scenery does not bring about a change in fortune. Less than twenty-four hours after her arrival home, Camille is left to deal with yet another tragic loss – the brutal murder of her best friend in an apparent home invasion. For local police, the case is open and shut. For Camille it is anything but. Desperate for answers, she becomes an unwitting participant in an investigation that winds through the darkest corridors of wealth, power, and political corruption. All the while a killer waits patiently in the shadows, watching Camille’s every move. With the help of a young homicide detective whose doubts about her department’s case increase by the second, Camille must race to uncover the true motives behind her friend’s murder, even though she knows that doing so will put her on an inevitable collision course with a past that she desperately wants to leave behind.

JUMPING SHIP: AN INTRODUCTORY NOVELLA
The year was nineteen seventy-five. Barren couple, Pearl and Edward Riley stumbled upon a newborn baby girl. Her cries could only be heard by a true mother, which Pearl immediately became. Bundled up with their new child, they discovered a parcel of artifacts and a scribbled note that read: Sakkara. Pregnant seamstress, Petrina Dugal, became a runaway at the age of twenty-six. She ran away from a brutish husband, Roger, and a well-loved South American home in Georgetown, Guyana; at the heart of her rebellion – an enigmatic lover named Michael Chen. Pet and Mikey, as they became affectionately known, allowed love to blossom in front of her police officer husband and an intrusive community. Were they not aware of the dangers? Or did the pursuit of love trump obligations? Sakkara Riley grew up with two loving parents – adoptive parents to be exact. She never knew the circumstances surrounding her discovery, until the age of sixteen. She embarks on a journey. Jumping Ship is an introductory novella to the Island Hopping Series. There are 7 planned books – representing each of the islands that Sakkara will visit along the way.
