Today I am off on a little adventure. I am going to pick up a beehive on my own. They were screened in their box last night and are waiting for me to come get them this morning, and set them up next to our current colony. Originally we were going to get two more, but the gentleman who is selling them to us wanted to wait on the second to be sure it was healthy. I don’t mind waiting. The thought of having one hive is already a bit nerve-racking, but two is a bit much for this rookie. I’m sure it’s no big deal to transport a box filled with about two thousand bees, but this rookie likes to put one toe in the water at a time.
