I see the corn mazes popping up and I am so sad. We will not be going to the corn maze this year, and probably not for many years. Last year we decided to make the corn maze a full event with my partner in crime’s family. We fueled ourselves up with a wonderful dinner, gathered our flashlights and sweatshirts and prepared for a wonderful evening of corn-mazing in the dark. The baby bassets were so excited, and I thought it would go down as a fun Halloween memory. Wow, it only took about 30 minutes for it to go downhill, turning into a Halloween nightmare. I told them it was supposed to take an hour and getting lost was part of the fun. I guess my baby bassets didn’t agree because my youngest started freaking out. Despite what I kept telling him, he was convinced we would never make it out alive. I kept pointing to the edge of the maze saying we could get out anytime, it’s just corn. I tried to convince him it was fun, but he threw up all over lookout stand. Why he had to wait until we were all on the lookout stand to do so I will never know. Kids are gross.
