I remembered something on my own yesterday and I am oddly proud of it. I could have asked my phone for the answer, but I decided not to have the instant gratification and instead opted to torture myself a bit. It was almost that same twisted thrill you get when you stick your fingernail in a cut for some weird reason. You don’t know exactly why you did, but you do it again just because you can.  It was about an hour later that I remember the answer to my question about who sang that song. It was quite satisfying when the song name popped in my head. I miss those thrills.

Becky and Mack have always hated each other, and their animosity isn’t diminished any when they are thrown together on a college newspaper project to interview an elderly film actor. At the height of his fame, Paul Wolfstead was known as The King of Horror famous for starring in bloodthirsty schlock horror movies, until he was sent to prison for killing someone during a party in the nineteen fifties. Descending into a life of poverty, but still living in the decaying splendour of Windchimes where the murder took place, he welcomes the chance to put the record straight, even if it is only for a story in a local college newspaper. But when Becky and Mack go to Windchimes, they find themselves catapulted into an adventure that is straight out of one of Paul Wolfstead’s old movies – travelling back in time to when the murder took place, enabling them to solve the mystery – that’s if they can get over their differences with each other first!

Hard Work Will Pay Off Later. Laziness Pays Off Now.

Let’s get one thing straight – Ivy Wilde is not a heroine. In fact, she’s probably the last witch in the world who you’d call if you needed a magical helping hand. If it were down to Ivy, she’d spend all day every day on her sofa where she could watch TV, munch junk food and talk to her feline familiar to her heart’s content.

However, when a bureaucratic disaster ends up with Ivy as the victim of a case of mistaken identity, she’s yanked very unwillingly into Arcane Branch, the investigative department of the Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment. Her problems are quadrupled when a valuable object is stolen right from under the Order’s noses.

It doesn’t exactly help that she’s been magically bound to Adeptus Exemptus Raphael Winter. He might have piercing sapphire eyes and a body which a cover model would be proud of but, as far as Ivy’s concerned, he’s a walking advertisement for the joyless perils of too much witch-work.

And if he makes her go to the gym again, she’s definitely going to turn him into a frog.

The Sign of the Four hides a secret pact among four convicts and two corrupt prison guards. According to Mary Morstan, her father requested her to meet him at the Langham Hotel in London upon his safe return from India. When Mary arrived at the hotel, she was told her father had gone out the previous night and not returned. Despite all efforts, no trace has ever been found of him. The second puzzle is that she has received six pearls in the mail from an anonymous benefactor, one per year since 1882. With the last pearl she received a letter remarking that she has been wronged and asking for a meeting. Holmes takes the case and soon discovers that Major Sholto, a friend of Mary’s father, had died in 1882 and that within a short span of time Mary began to receive the pearls, implying a connection. The only clue Mary can give Holmes is a map of a fortress found in her father’s desk with four names.

This is Avantika’s heartfelt journey through love and life…
As a smart, successful, thirty-eight-year-old, single mother Avantika seemingly has it all: a great career as a seasoned banking professional, respect and admiration from her peers as an able leader, fulfillment as a mother, and so many other things besides.
What is it then that drives her towards Rohan, a man six years her junior? He’s a man who ideally would not occupy much room in Avantika’s otherwise sorted mind space.
She has told herself she has no time for love. Then, why does she make the choices she makes? Is it the sameness and banality of everyday existence? Is it the emotional vacuum? A need to relive life? A feeling that life as she is truly lived and felt is passing her by?
However, as she struggles with her feelings, Avantika and Rohan part ways… only to meet again. To what end? Why does Rohan want her back… and why now?
So many questions! Very few answers!
Avantika’s journey is as spiritual as it is emotional. Can love give second chances? Join Avantika in the twists and turns of her story, through her ponderings over the mysteries and vagaries of the word “love,” the complexities of human relationships, and the reassessment of all the values she has held dear…
