I think my hubby likes Christmas, but by no means is it his favorite holiday. That was certainly apparent yesterday when we went for our nightly family walk. Our path wasn’t the usual circle around the neighborhood, but rather to the shopping center near our house that has one of the hundreds of fireworks stands in our town. Safe and sane fireworks are only legal in our town and the one next to us with the crazy chickens that have invaded the Walgreens. There are so many chickens there right now. It’s crazy! Anywho.. He was walking a bit faster than usual and I could have sworn he had a skip in his step. When we got to the stand you could see a twinkle in his eyes as he surveyed the selection. So many awesome things that sparkle and scream. Some even let off colorful smoke that is SOOO EXCITING AND AWESOME! That’s what the package said anyway. I wasn’t all that interested. I tried to get into it, but it was driving me nuts watching hubby and the baby bassets read every single package description promising a light show to remember. All of them were the ultimate in sparkles and flashes. Hubby was on the phone with his friend consulting with each other to see which would be the wisest choice for the big day. You would have thought they were planning the royal wedding with how much thought and seriousness they put into it. After much deliberation, we walked home with a box taller than my children. I think I will need more potato salad. I might have underestimated the size of this party.
