The rains around here have been absolutely crazy. I am seeing pictures of people in kayaks rowing through downtowns that have buildings halfway under water, and what used to be streams are raging rapids. Sonoma county just can’t catch a break. Two years of fires and now flooding everywhere. Plus the danger of mudslides in the areas where the vegetation that held back the mountain sides were burned away. The great thing about all of this is we are all so used to large amounts of people needing help in our area, that it’s become second nature to just jump in and help, where it used to be a lot of people feeling helpless and unsure where to begin. We know what needs to be done now and we mobilize quickly. It’s a really great feeling, but I still think we need a break here.

From husband and wife writing team, Carol Marrs Phipps and Tom Phipps, WHAM is an imaginative and original dystopian fantasy where technology and magic stand side by side.
“Rarely have I seen fantasy and science fiction married so successfully.”
When Children and Family Assistance police drag her mom, her dad and her beautiful sister out the door into the night and beat her senseless, Tess Greenwood finds herself alone, her every move watched by the hidden World Alliance. Almost blind after her beating, she flees to the forbidden Broadstreet compound and a troll named Maxi.
So begins Tess’s journey from quiet teen at home to fierce young woman, determined to get back her family any way she can. Even if she must travel time itself.
But time is one thing she has little of. Those arrested in the night seldom live for long, and beautiful young women are destined to become toys for the elite.
Frantic, Tess tries to pull herself together to save her loved ones and her world… and the clock is ticking.

SOLDIERS AND MARINES: A Novel of War (The Soldier’s Wars Book 1)
by Martin Archer
(90 Reviews)
Genre: Literature & Fiction
FREE for a limited time
This is a very good read. It is the first novel in an action-packed multi-book military saga that follows the life of a combat soldier from his early years in the Korean War to his middle age in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere in Israel and the middle east in wars that are in the immediate future. It is fast paced and action-oriented as casualties and a willingness to sign up for additional front line tours and new wars result in Roberts shouldering responsibilities far beyond his years. Fans of WEB Griffin, Larry Bond, Tom Clancy, and Harold Coyle will enjoy this great addition to military fiction.
