Thank you all for the kind messages. I am very grateful that we are all okay and that there were Good Samaritans out there who jumped into action. Had it not been for them, the fire damage would have been a lot worse. Yesterday the contractor/ restoration specialist came out to look at the damage. He went through the entire house inside and out taking notes and measurements. Besides damage done to the actual house itself, the smoke damage will have to be dealt with as well, and it was a lot worse than I had thought. I have been keeping my cool through this whole thing, but when he said the attic insulation had smoke damage as well, I started to lose it. That was the first time I could feel my throat start to choke up, and the tears were about to flow like a river. NO! I am not going to lose it over attic insulation. I like my insulation, but I am not in love with it. I know it wasn’t the attic insulation that I was upset about, but I was just about done at that point. I like camping a lot, and for a little while I get to enjoy the wonderful smell of campfire in my entire house. GET THE S’MORES!!
