It’s the Monday before Thanksgiving. First order of business…. Did you put the Turkey in the refrigerator to defrost? Better check that. Today is a big grocery shopping day for me. I already bought most of it, but I had to hold off on the more perishable items like the fresh herbs until today. Thankfully I do have some in the garden, so that isn’t too much of a worry. I am feeling a bit of anxiety about the whipped cream situation at the store. You can’t have pumpkin pie without whipped cream. The whole dinner will be RUINED without the whipped cream. That aside I think I am going to try to relearn the clarinet. Random, I know, but I think it would be great fun to play a Christmas duet with my youngest baby basset who is learning the trombone this year in school. I saw a squirrel the other day running down the sidewalk on my street. I have never seen a squirrel in my neighborhood before. I am in love. This mess of thoughts is just who I am going to be until I get that whipped cream situation under control. Four cans should do it.

Everything changed when I found a unique way to feel alive again. It feels so tangible that sometimes I forget that I’m dead. But as time goes by, I realize that my personal goal, as important as it is to me, still hurts others.
And now I face the biggest dilemma of all: should I continue to look after myself or is it time to think about the common good?
