I’m not sure why, but every single time I am cleaning the bathrooms I get into a fight in my head. Sounds weird right? What’s really weird is that my arguments are not with my family for being messy gross in the bathroom. No. That would be normal. Nope, the beef I have is with totally random people. Sometimes it’s with that guy who said something mean to me 20 years ago, other times it’s with famous people. Mother Teresa was on my list today. Why? I have no clue. She popped in my head and said something rude to me. I had to do a deep cleaning of the two bathrooms so I was really tearing into her for a long time. The bathrooms are clean and I am not mad at her anymore. I do have some dusting and vacuuming to do next. You know who bugs me? Tom Cruz.

A holiday is a time to relax, unwind and see the sights. But for two adventurous sexagenarians, the sights have a tendency to include dead bodies.
Etta and Dora, both newly retired teachers, travel from their home in Southern Italy to a fairy-tale German town for their first home swap holiday, delighted by their neighbours’ warm welcome. But the welcome turns sour when the Night Watchman of Rothenburg is brutally murdered while his tour group takes photographs nearby, a halberd buried in his chest and a peculiar iron mask by his side.
When the murderer claims a second victim and the son of their hospitable neighbours becomes the number-one suspect, Etta’s analytical mind goes to work. Why was a shame mask left at the scene of each murder? Is there a clandestine trade going on behind the scenes of apparently upstanding local businesses? And why does every lead take her back to the sinister Devil’s Ale pub and the terrifying gang who lurk within?
Meanwhile, Dora has a puzzle of her own – how can she persuade Etta that a loveably disobedient Basset Hound called Napoleon is now a permanent part of their lives?
Pack your bags, jump into the backseat of Etta and Dora’s old Fiat 500, and join them on their travels around Europe. There’ll be mystery, murder and mayhem aplenty wherever they go.

Hippies
by Gary Gautier
(133 Reviews)
Genre: Historical Fiction
FREE for a limited time
By 1970, the hippie scene was faltering, a victim of both inner contradictions and external forces. The Vietnam war resistance, psychedelic drugs, sexual openness, the freedom of the commune – it seemed that everything about the 1960s could be incredibly liberating or wildly destructive. Against this backdrop, Jazmine, Ziggy, Ragman and a coterie of hippies discover an LSD-spinoff drug that triggers past life regressions and sweeps them toward a dramatic climax. This is the epic tale of hippiedom we’ve been waiting for, intimate in the lives of its characters but panoramic in its coverage of the sights, sounds, and ideals of the Age of Aquarius.

Kevin J. Kennedy has put together some of the horror world’s bestselling anthologies over recent years. Now, for the first time, he has collected some of his own short stories in one place. Dark Thoughts features a brand new, eight thousand word, tribute story to Richard Laymon’s Dark Mountain.
An excellent collection of horror tales, ranging from dark and disturbing to perverse and dark-humored to just flat-out disgusting. Great stuff!
Jeff Strand, author of Everything has Teeth
Kevin Kennedy is one of the new breed of horror writing talent who is beginning to make waves in the industry with his captivating style dripping with dread. Definitely one to watch.
Michael Bray, author of the Whisper Trilogy
Dark Thoughts by Kevin Kennedy is everything you want from a horror collection and more. The variety on display here is staggering, from the supernatural to the evil in the hearts of men, but it is always underlined with a visceral grittiness that you just can’t shake. I think we have horror’s answer to Irvine Welsh.
Lee Mountford, author of The Demonic
A stunning horror collection that will keep you turning the pages long after dark.
