You really get to know a puppy when it rains. First thing I noticed is Rose hates getting wet. I don’t think she is going to be the great hunting dog fetching ducks from the water on hunting trips. Not too surprising for a six pounder. I mean, I never thought she would be, but now I have confirmation. I also realized that she is extremely smart. She is constantly on the move, and never stays in one spot for more than a few seconds. This gives the humans a false sense of certainty that she is not pooping in a corner somewhere. Never met a dog that can poop that fast. Truly impressive. She is also great at keeping secrets. She has not given up the locations of any of the little puddles she has made in the house. She fights pooping in the rain, peeing will not be any different. Please… please bring the sunshine

Ron Ketchum saw his share of the dark side of life as a cop in Los Angeles. Then he left L.A. to become the chief of police in the Sierra Nevada resort town of Goldstrike. One sunny morning in the mountains, though, he comes upon a crime unlike anything he’s ever seen before.
He finds the body of an African American man nailed to a tree.
The victim is a highly respected minister, and his father is the nationally known televangelist Jimmy Thunder. Ron, on the other hand, has described himself in court as a recovering bigot.
Goldstrike’s mayor for life and movie icon, Clay Steadman, wants Ron to catch the killer fast. Adding to the pressure, the victim’s grandmother comes to town. She tells the media mob that has descended on Goldstrike that God will curse the town until the killer is caught.
That’s when a rogue mountain lion begins attacking people. At first, the attacks happen on the wilderness outskirts of Goldstrike. Then the predator moves into town, leaping a fence into a family’s backyard. Finally, it turns the tables on one of the hunters sent out to bring it down.
Looking for a killer, hunting a lion and defending his own integrity — makes being a cop in L.A. seem like the good old days.

Three Incidents at Foster Manor
by P.T. Phronk, Cal Chayce
(151 Reviews)
Genre: Horror | Mystery

An old mansion. An apocalyptic storm. Whispering voices in the air. She was right to fear the worst-case scenario.
Amy Burnett has been buried in her work as a security expert. She likes it that way — her dark past can’t invade her thoughts as long as she stays holed up in her office. So why the heck has she ended up at a gothic mansion’s doorstep in the middle of the night?
It’s because Craig Foster summoned her there. Amy’s company built the sealed chamber in his basement, for any worrisome worst-case scenario, but now the safe room has presented a scenario of its own: Craig’s daughter is trapped inside.
It should be a quick fix. After all, what’s the worst thing that can happen when a stranger arrives at a remote mansion on a stormy night? An impossible mystery? A haunting? A visit from the lurking strangers in the woods? Surely not all three — that would require extraordinarily bad luck.
Unfortunately, Amy’s been short on luck lately.
Three Incidents at Foster Manor will keep you guessing until the end with a twist-filled, fast-paced, genre-blending mix of mystery, ghost story, thriller, and cosmic horror that will chill you to the core.
This is a standalone story, but also acts as a sequel to P.T. Phronk’s previous mystery, The Arborist.

Two damaged hearts. One tropical vacation. That’s where our story starts…
Four years ago, a single tragic event left me at rock bottom, and my life has sucked ever since. So, when a guy I’ve been getting to know through social media suggested we meet in Hawaii for our “official” first date, I agreed to go. My life has been mundane overall, so I had nothing to lose. A romantic adventure with breathtaking views and an ocean breeze as the backdrop created the potential for us to fall in love. Until the promise of excitement turned sour…
Shortly after my arrival in Hawaii, I learned my date was standing me up, leaving me stranded in Lanai for the week. As an apology, he left his credit card on file along with the prepaid room and told me to enjoy the luxurious resort on him. While being a generous offer, it still meant I’d experience paradise… alone. Or would I?
Somehow, I’ve met someone interesting, and my outlook has quickly changed… Cillian is handsome and mysterious and is also a guest at the resort. Conveniently, we’re both on our own for the week. I’m drawn to him by the precise, thought-provoking questions he asks. Not only are those impressive, but Cillian also listens intently and is determined to learn details about my life. He appears almost too good to be true. While I’m confessing awful secrets — ones I’ve purposely left buried in the past — Cillian’s attempting to heal my wounds. But at the same time, I sense something is keeping him stuck in his past and giving him reservations about me.
I have six days to figure what’s happening between us. So, let the Hawaiian trip begin…
*** Heart Wreck is a steamy contemporary romance, may contain sensitive subject matter, and has no bad language. Recommended for 18+. ***
